United Airline’s mission statement is “to create an inclusive work environment, characterized by dignity and respect, that empowers every employee to serve the global marketplace and contribute to their success” (Munoz, 2021). United Airline’s diversity and inclusion program and approach in their hiring process are remarkable. The company aims to create an inclusive culture where everyone from any background is welcomed and treated similarly (Munoz, 2021). Being one of the three major airline carriers in the United States, United Airlines, as of 2020, successfully had over 92,000 employees globally practicing their mission statement across the globe (Macrotrends, 2021).
Comparing United Airlines with the other two major carriers in the United States, United has the most extensive fleets nationwide, serving many destinations (PhdEssay). Other advantageous factors are an extensive network in each state, approximately 3200 flights daily domestically and globally, and a large, diverse workforce (PhdEssay).
United Airlines being a global airline, does support its mission statement.  At United, people of all backgrounds are warmly welcomed and supported as long as they meet their job requirements. 
A concept that I found confusing was matrix organization. I don’t think if I have ever worked at a company that practiced such an organizational structure, I find it hard to understand visually in my head that each employee reports to two managers.
