Throughout the last year, there have been efforts by several legislatures to either block rights or expand and codify rights. Some suggest that these new laws are unlawful and just pandering to a minority of people. One contentious issue is gun rights that are protected by the federal government, however, states a beginning to pass their own control and open carry laws (Harrison, 2021). The biggest trend in these new laws is preventing local authorities from creating their own laws, such as gun control. Do you think federalism is at risk with these new laws?
