Select one:
Describe a teaching plan that utilizes a newly developed teaching tool. A teaching tool is a printed education material such as a handout, trifold brochure, or pamphlet.  It can also be a video demonstrating a skill.
Describe a teaching plan that utilizes a newly developed continuing education session including an outline and slides. A continuing education session includes a detailed agenda and PowerPoint slides.
Only original work designed during the course will be accepted.  Prior teaching sessions cannot be used for this assignment.
The paper needs to include:
An introductory paragraph to include broad description and purpose statement.
Appropriate assessment of the learner.
Identifies target audience.
Reasons why this project was developed.
How did you decide there was a learning need?  Did you observe it, a manager, peer, service learning agency? Do not provide statistics that a condition is prevalent. Learning needs may be written in past tense if you have completed this.
Readiness to learn: what do you expect with PEEK?
Learning style: how will you realistically evaluate this?
Learning environment description appropriate for the educationInstructional teaching method(s) to be used
At what location will this tool be used?  Hospital room, conference room, office, etc.
Rationale for teaching method
Description of teaching tool or continuing education session
Provide a rationale for choosing the content for tool/continuing education project.
Identify content needed in tool or education session.  Explain how you decided what topics to include and what to exclude. This is different from the rationale for the project.
Learning outcomes using SMART criteria
Minimum of two
Domains of learning pertinent to the learning outcomes and teaching session
Evaluation of the learning method
What model is appropriate and why?
How will you evaluate learning?
Conclusion paragraph
Summarize.
The body of the paper needs to be written concisely to a maximum of seven pages.
First person is acceptable for this paper when discussing reasons for the project and the rationale for the content.
The paper must include at least three scholarly (peer-reviewed and less than 5 years old) references. Textbook may be used as one of the references. Note: blogs, twitter, websites, or Wikipedia will NOT be considered scholarly resources.
Teaching Tool/Continuing Education Session:
Select one: Create a teaching tool or continuing education agenda due Friday, of Week 5.
Option One: Teaching Tool.
Create an original teaching tool to be used in a teaching plan. Consider designing a tool that can be used with a workplace or service learning population. The tool should not be currently available.
 A minimum of one reference to support content must be included and in APA style. This reference may be different from the paper references.
 Reading level and reference(s) can be placed on the back of the tool or attached separately. Electronically submit teaching tool in the designated drop box.
Option Two: Continuing Education Session.
Create an original detailed agenda and original PowerPoint slides for a continuing education session. The agenda must include the length of the program, potential speakers and/or teaching methods used. PowerPoint slides contain content of the continuing education session.
A minimum of one reference to support content must be included and in APA style. This reference may be different from the paper references. Individual slides must include references when applicable.
Reading level and reference(s) can be placed on the last slide. Electronically submit continuing education agenda and slides in the designated drop box.
