Thelma Golden’s TEDEd talk, “How art gives shape to cultural change” is an interesting talk on Public Art.  She managed a public art project that she titled “Black Male.”
Note the pictures shown in  Golden, 3:40. When you saw those two pictures, did you come to the conclusion that, by viewing the pictures only, you thought one or both of the pictures were made by a Black Artist? Does this mean that context of the artist is important or should you only be interested in the actual art piece?
Question Ten
In the final minutes of Golden’s TEDEx, that she is amazed by the way in which artists are willing to take on complex, cultural issues. Between time stamp 9:00 and 11:00, she presents about a dozen pieces of art.
