Sociology

Explore and apply only one of the below theorist’s Stages of Socialization to one character in “The Breakfast Club,”

“The Breakfast Club” was released in 1985, directed by John Hughes. It features a small cast that is supposed to represent American high school culture. Admittedly, this film does not represent different ethnic groups, but it does represent social groups than many people can relate to.

This film is rated “R” and includes some crude sexual comments and jokes. It is not suitable for all audiences. If you find that this movie is not for you, please contact me (privately, if you wish) and I will assign another movie.

Write 2 – 3 pages, double spaced, 12 font, outlining the Stages of Socialization, or partial stages, for one of the characters in “The Breakfast Club.” You are to be creative while drawing on the concepts we have discussed in class, your textbook, the embedded videos and other sources. Since none of these characters have completed their final development (according to some theorists) it is okay to suggest what their next stage will be like. You can also explain where the character is at now, or perhaps where they struggled with.

Use one the the theorists that are referenced in links below from YouTube. I would like to encourage you to research additional information, not limiting you to your textbook and these videos.

You only need to write about 1 character and compare to 1 theorist.
